Aaron Burr, 3rd Veep, served from 1801-1805. He was the first of two VP's to shoot a man while in office (Dick Cheney the other).
Mr. Burr ran for President in 1800. The race vs. Adams and Jefferson was decided in the U.S. House on the 36th ballot. Burr, the second place finisher, immediately became vice president as Jefferson became President. Top Stories
